PUGLIA OUTDOOR
Trekking on the Gargano
Although it can be practiced year-round due to the mild climate with temperatures always above freezing even in the winter months, the best season for trekking is spring, when the natural environment expresses its maximum richness of colors and scents. Autumn is also a recommended season for those who enjoy hiking, with the forests of Ash, Cerris Maples and Hornbeams changing their leaves to yellow-orange hues. The Gargano promontory has three main categories of trails: mountain and forest trails, karst trails in the valleys of the southern slope, and coastal trails characterized by Mediterranean scrub and cliffs.
